Abstract: A good chart of accounts provides flexibility for recording and reporting accounting information, provides structure for managing business uniformly, and enhances communication across all parts of the business. There are five fundamental criteria for creating a chart of accounts in Oracle E-Business Suite to optimize growth and flexibility while minimizing maintenance. New features in Release 12 including Subledger Accounting and Ledger Sets provide an added incentive to adopt a well-designed chart of accounts.
