eprentise Named “Cool Vendor” by Leading Analyst Firm
Orlando, May 10, 2011 – eprentise, the Oracle® E-Business Suite (EBS) transformation software company, announced that it has been chosen as a “Cool Vendor” in the Cool Vendors in Master Data Management (MDM), 2011 report by Gartner, Inc. [1] ”Each year, Gartner, the leading industry analyst firm, identifies new Cool Vendors in key technology areas and publishes a series of research reports highlighting these innovative vendors and their products and services.” [2] ”Gartner defines a Cool Vendor as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are innovative, impactful and intriguing.”
“We are honored to be included in the Gartner 2011 MDM Cool Vendor report. Particularly exciting is the confirmation of what our satisfied customers already know—that eprentise’s solutions give Oracle E-Business Suite users the ability to do what was not possible before in an automated way, reducing time, cost, and risk of the effort,” said Helene Abrams, Founder and CEO of eprentise. “There is a tremendous need in the market to allow companies to extend the usability of their applications, reduce the total cost of ownership, and provide the agility to quickly adapt to business changes – all without the enormous cost and time of a full reimplementation. We believe the selection by Gartner validates the uniqueness of our solution.”
What is MDM?
Master Data Management (MDM) is the discipline of ensuring that an organization does not implement multiple versions and different definitions of mission-critical master data. Without the discipline of MDM, large organizations can act on incomplete information, duplicate efforts, or waste resources on costly reconciliations between inconsistent data. eprentise extends the definition of MDM to include reference data and global data configurations. The problem of inconsistent master data in large organizations is widespread. “Because world class organizations are increasingly so complex, implementing an effective MDM program is a critical success factor. When we sit down with customers and actually analyze just how much effort they spend extracting and transforming data from multiple environments, manual spreadsheets and performing other reconciliations due to inconsistencies and duplications in their enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, it is an ‘aha moment’ ” states Abrams. “Reducing the complexity and employing data standards to establish the ERP system as a ‘single source of truth’ in a global enterprise can save companies millions of dollars per year.”
