You need to create different subsets of data for testing.
Problem
A large internet book supplier had a very rigorous testing and QA process. Whenever a change was made in their E-Business Suite, one team tested open transactions across modules, other teams tested within a single module, and still other teams tested a full business process cycle such as purchase to pay. The test teams were constantly required to create new test instances that met different criteria. The book supplier’s database was quite large and developing complete clones for testing took a long time and made the test cycles very long and the testing very cumbersome. At any point in time, the company maintained more than 300 different test environments.
Solution
Using eprentise Data Archive and Subset software, the company created a series of rules to filter the relevant data for each testing team. Now, every time a testing team needed an environment set up, they executed the filtering rules for the test cases and had a new test environment. Not only did they save time in cloning the databases, but the testing teams were able to identify testing issues quicker with a smaller subset of data.
